Boulder Hockey Club's Squirt and Peewee DNHL Hockey Teams Take League Champion Titles
March 2 2009. Lafayette, CO. The Boulder Hockey Club Squirt and Peewee teams, based at the YMCA in Lafayette, Co., took the League Champion titles for the Denver Northern Hockey League (DNHL) this last weekend.
Boulder Squirt DNHL benefitted from a completely unbeaten season, winning 16 games. Players from Boulder, Superior, Lafayette, Louisville, Westminster, Erie and Longmont built a winning lead early in the season and held it through to a tense final game on March 1 2009 in Windsor, Co., against the Northern Colorado Youth Hockey Blue team. Boulder won the game 6:4.
Boulder Peewee, with an 18 game winning streak, also secured its League win with its final game on March 1 2009 at the Boulder Valley Ice rink in Superior, CO. The team beat the Hyland Peewee 2 team by 6 goals to 1.
But the good news doesn't end there: Will Reichart, Boulder DNHL Squirt team, is the league's winning scorer, with 49 goals and 13 assists across the season. The team's Andy Voydat and Cam Dudiak tied as the 4th highest scorers. Will Stuart from Erie was the leading goalie, with 16 wins under his belt.
Caleb Cox, Boulder DNHL Peewee team was the 3rd highest scorer in his league with 25 goals and 11 assists. Robin Blackwood, the team's Goalie, was the leading goalie in the league.
Both teams now move forward into the Playoff Championships as 1st place favorites, which begin on March 7 2009.
